why wont pps attachment open when i have powerpoint viewer?

i cannot open any of my emails that have a pps attachment to them but i do
have powerpoint viewer. i keep getting a message cum up that says that i need
to create a folder int my options but when i go there the folder is already
thee please help?????????

Save the attachment to your hard drive (perhaps on the desktop so you can
find it easily) and run from the desk top (double click on the saved file).

Also, make sure you are up to date on all the office and windows updates.
