Did you not even bother to look at the two posts within the last couple
of hours on this very subject?

yes Gordon, I saw a post by Evelyn W. but there wasn't an answer that covered
the question. I have tried installing Office 97 Pro on a WinXP Pro SP2
machine and I get the error message "Htmlmarq.ocx was unable to register
itself in the system registry." Have you seen or heard of this before? I have
not seen anything on the Knowledge Base about this problem. If you know of a
solution please let me know. Thanks, Archer1955

Hi, Archer1955. Try performing a custom installation of Office 97 in which
you set the Web Authoring Tools (HTML) to "not available" in the setup
options.

Thanks GnO, I'll give that a try; I did use the Custom Install and chose to
install everything including the "kitchen sink" , so I will see about
limiting the Web Authoring Tools bit. 'preciate it!

garfield-n-odie - leaving off the Web Authoring item worked just fine! Thanks
again!

I have the same problem. But the web authoring tool is the main thing I need.
I know how to use regedit a little. How would I register htmlmarq.ocx to the
registry myself?
