Window says open after saving an entry

Fraser Benzal

When I add an item to the calendar or to my address book:

After I click SAVE, the data entry window stays open. It adds the info as if
should but I want the window to close after I click save. Any idea how to do
this?

Thanks

Yes, I find this a bittersweet "feature." It's annoying if you only have
the one item to add/modify. It's not, however, if you're entering/examining
multiple items. On balance, I'm with you: I'd prefer the window to close.

A preferences item to address this would be great.

Don't click Save, click the Close button (red button) or press cmd-W. The
first time you do this, you'll get a dialog asking if you want to Save
first. That dialog also contains a box "Don't ask again". Check it. When you
then click Save, you'll get a further confirmation. That's the last time.
In future, clicking the Close box or cmd-W will automatically Save and Close
without asking or nagging. The same system operates separately for Event,
Task and Note windows. You can soon be click-closing in one step everywhere.
(If you ever want to undo this behavior go to Preferences/Notification and
click the "Reset Confirmation Dialogs" button.)

Wonderful! Thanks, Paul! It's sometimes the small stuff that makes one's
day.
