Windows Live/MSN/Hotmail

This is a product that is now funded by advertising - a reach play - so why
is it that I have to have a subscription to access the email through the
Outlook client that I BOUGHT FROM MICROSOFT? I know you want to give people a
reason to buy office live but this is sad - the revenue stream can't
compensate surely for the lack of product uptake and therefore eyeballs on
the adds with corresponding click-throughs or the loss of "goodwill". I ended
up opting for gmail purely becuase I get a free POP account....The only
saving grace is Windows live desktop mail but that means I have to use two
email clients...This is just sad...Surely the idea should be to get WL
Desktop for those who DO NOT have Outlook....

Feel better now? ;-)

If Gmail gives you a free POP account, they're the only ones now doing
it cos' all free email account disallowed downloading. So I guess
that's why Google is now above IBM on the stock market! ;-)
