Windows XP SP2 and Project server connection problem

Our company standard is Windows 2000 but we are beta testing Windows XP SP2.
I have noticed that when we try to connect to the Project server through MS
Project 2003, an authentication error is thrown. The same user is able to
connect using Windows 2000 machine.

I am guessing that it has something to do with security settings but have no
idea of what it might be. I tried turning off the Pop-up blockers too.

Any Ideas?

Thank you Gary.

But the problem stil persists. I tried disabling the firewall altogether but
still it didnt work. Do you know if MS Project PRo uses port 80 to access
project server? If not then which port does it use

It uses port 80, but it also uses port 1433 to connect to SQL server
directly.
