with autofiltering on how can i display only the criteria request.

i have turned auto filtering on at the top of the work sheet.
When i select a criteria from the drop down. it displays 1 or 2 items buthe
rest are still listed.
ie if i asked for people in oxford it lists a couple but so are people in
other areas and the are still listed in the main body otherpeople that live
in oxford

Maybe there's a blank row somewhere in the middle of your table, and the
whole table isn't being filtered. To check:

Select a cell in the heading row
Press the Ctrl key, and the * on the number keypad
This selects the current region, so scroll down, and see if
all the rows in the table are selected
If not, note where the selection ends, and see if a row is blank
(it may be hidden)
