Hi

I need a formula that will tell me whether B1 is within a
tolerance of +/- 10% of the value of A1. I'm sure that
there is an easy way....

This probably works for the OP, but the condition would be tautologically
true if A1 were negative. Safer to cancel like terms,

=IF(ABS(B1/A1-1)<=0.1,...)
