Word 2000 Customized Toolbars causing Runtime Error 4248

M

Michele

Hello -

Has anyone ever heard of a customized toolbar creating a runtime error
when trying to close out of a document? Several of our users have
been experiencing this with different customized toolbars added to
their document. Once the toolbar was deleted through the Organizer -
the document was able to close. The styles were still able to be
applied by using the styles drop down list.

The Runtime Error 4258 - This command is not available because there
is no document to open.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

TIA
Michele

Hi Michele,

Does the custom toolbar utilize macros? That sounds like the source of
the problem - not the custom toolbar.

If there is a macro what is the code?

Hi Beth ~

Thank you for your response. The toolbars do not contain any macros -
only customized styles. Each user has a different toolbar. We are
running Microsoft Windows 2000 NT with Citrix Metaframe 1.8.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks,
Michele

Hi Michele,

A 'runtime' error indicates an issue in a macro rather than the
application. Are there any macros listed under Tools/Macro/Macros?

Hi Beth~

Well - we discovered the source of the problem! There was a glitch
caused after Workshare was installed on our system. I think Workshare
has found a fix! Not sure what they did behind the scenes - but it's
fixed. Thanks for your all your help.
