Word 2000

Is there any way to upgrade Word 2000 to Word 2002? I am
taking an intro class for Word 2002, but I have Word 2000
on my computer at home. The drawing canvas is different
on 2000 than 2002, how do I access the drawing canvas
toolbar in Word 2000 (if upgrade is unavailable)?

Hi Beamer,

The current MS Word version is 2003. To go from 2000 to
either 2002 or 2003 would be a purchasable upgrade.

Starting with Word 2002 MS replaced the MS Draw 98 addin
that is available as an optional install choice from your
Word CD (CD#2 setup if MS Office XP) and can be accessed through
Insert=>New Drawing or Insert=>Object=>Microsoft Draw

Functionally Draw 98 and the Drawing canvas are fairly close
in usage.

To add to what Bob has said, it is still possible to get Word 2002 (rather
than 2003) if desired, as it is the version currently included in Works
Suite 2004. This is a very affordable option (and includes several other
useful applications); see
