Following on from Denise's suggestion, if the doc is
currupt, try File Save As ..RTF, then using the RTF use
file save a..Word Doc. We'd had several that just take
for ever to open & save, this double whammy seems to
clear out the dross very effectively.
You can aslo do the same trick with Templates, but
obviously File Save As..Template
