word document

I am using windows 98SE Plus and recieved an email attachment that is word
document but everytime i go to open it it tells me that it has performed an
illegal operation and must close. How do i remedy this problem

Do you have MS Word on your computer? You might try right-click and Save As
onto your computer, then open that way, rather than from inside your email
application.
