Word Footer issue after upgrade

L

We have some ISO documents that utilize a common template for the footer with
date/revision/etc. Users have reported that since the upgrade to 2003, the
date field is wrapping to a second line, throwing the spacing off by the end
of the document. The easy solution is to have user open each document, then
either reduce the font size or make the date field just barely wider, then
resave the document. This creates further additional work, as these ISO
documents must be re-released (for Audit purposes, can't have a file modified
1 year after the last release without re-releasing).

I'm not seeing any other solution here, but I would be grateful if someone
knows of a quicker solution.

Thanks,

Bo

You may be able to modify the Footer style in the template and then
use the "Automatically update document styles" option found under
Tools/Templates and Add-ins. If it works then an AutoOpen macro could
be created to automate this process.
