word options

can sme1 help me plse i have xp hme edition with this
word thing(as you can tell im a novice) when using word y
is there not a grammer option only spellchecks? do i have
to buy something else? if so what do i need and is there
any alternatives i could use as money is tight??

click on tools > options > spelling & grammar > check the boxes for "check grammar as you type" and "check grammar with spelling" and uncheck the box for "hide grammatical errors in this document"
