Word Side By Side w/o Horiz Scroll

I have a 12" laptop (1024x768) and which to edit with Word 2007 two
documents side by side with synchronous scrolling. I can get it to work,
but only if I do horizontal scroll or set the zoom so that I can hardly read
the screen. How do I do I have two documents side by side without having to
horizontal scroll? TIA

I am frequently on the road. I do have 24" Dell 1920x1200 monitors at home
and work.
Does anyone know how to do this?
TIA.
