word xp needs too long for closing a document placed on a webserver

Our users need to open many word documents located on a webserver. Word 2002 displays the document quite fast either as browser pulgin or seperate application.
When closing the document (or the complete word application), Word hangs up for about 1 minute and 10 seconds until you can continue working.

We already checked the following points

- disabled all word options, dealing with auto save, auto recovery, background save, ..
- created a new user profil
- started word with "/a" optio
- installed the ms smb fix Q32917
- checked the outlook journaling option
- disabled all features newer than word 9

None of these solved the problem

Is there anybody who experiences the same behavior or already knows the solution
