HELP!
I have had problems with Word 97. It will not open and the icon has disappeared from the desktop. I cannot open any documnets sent to me via e-mail. If I try, the computer freezes up. If I uninstall and reinstall Office 97, Will I loose all the documents on the hard drive and desktop? Thanks for anyones help. Vigge(removethis)@aol.com

No, you won't lose any of your documents, but keep in mind that the global
template that Word uses will still be there and it might be your problem.
Try this before reinstalling:

1. Open Windows Explorer and search for a file called "normal.dot"
2. When you find it, change the name to "normal.old"
3. Close Explorer and re-open Word and see if it helps.
