WordArt won't resize!

WordArt has always been a wonderful feature to give life to a document.

Now I have a new computer with Vista. In MS Word I am able to resize my
WordArt just fine.

But in Excel, I can make a WordArt. But when I try to resize by moving the
'sizing handles' -- Excel does not respond properly.

If I move the bottom middle handle -- nothing happens.

If I move the bottom-right handle -- the WordArt changes from only one line
to two lines -- but NOT smaller (like I wanted)

Same thing with the right handle.

And holding down Ctrl or Shift also doesn't help.

What is wrong?
