words split

Hi everyone
Would someone help me?
I scanned pages of document with "Omnipage" and paste the OCR result into
Word 2003

Many words are split with a "¬" sign
Example: "….seg¬mented, where indi¬vidual packet data services are bundled
in a packet sub-multi¬plex
This matches the line return from the original text
"Find / Replace" functions are not able to identify recognize and replace
this character

This character looks alike Alt 0172 or Alt 170 from the mapping table
Does someone know a method to remove this sign from the scanned text

If you have nonprinting characters displayed, the ¬ character represents an
optional hyphen (see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/NonPrintChars.htm). The Find & Replace
code for this is ^-.
