Work group template path (Shared templates)

Hi,
I'm having trouble with the shared temlpate path wich i set via the GPO.
This path is set in all Office programs, but when i logon to a workstation
offline (local cached account) then the office programs lose this information
when checked. Funny thing is that the path is still in the registry (HKCU &
HKU).

We have few work group templates which I want to push out to users via gpo. I
see you are doing the same. Would you please tell me how you are doing this.
I know I can go to particular OU properties --group policy -- then choose
either computer or user configuration but from then I am not sure what I need
to do to push this out. Any help will be appreciated.

which key in the registry actually get modified in Hkey current user and Hkey
user hive?

The keys that store User and Workgroup templates are:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\<ver>\Common\General\UserTemplates
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\<ver>\Common\General\SharedTemplates
