I think this is basically a workflow app similar to what
Lotus Notes does.
My customer has a database of clients. (OfficeXP).
Various people in the organization interact with these
clients and become aware of changes to the clients'
information. i.e. Address has changed, they were admitted
to a hospital, marital status changed, or any field in
the database has changed.
I am writting a VB app to allow these changes to be made
in a program. The program records the changes to a
transaction file which will later update the main
database.
OK, here is the issue. When someone used this program to
record one or more changes, various people in the
organization must be notified of these changes, and must
sign off, or acknowledge receipt of the email or to-do
item that the program will send to inform each person of
the changes.
I need to have a way to know who has not acknowledged
receipt of this memo so that a follow-up might be sent
after a certain time.
I think that Office has some mechanism designed for this
purpose, like Lotus (IBM) Notes, but I don't know how to
access it.
Any ideas or input would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
