This may be the wrong place to post this question but someone might want a
small diversion. I have a workgroup of 8 pcs 6 running XP SP2 and 2 running
2000. I use PC anywhere to connect to one PC for a home worker. I want to use
a fixed IP address for the PC she connects to but when I configure the router
with the fixed IP address the other PCs in the workgroup can't "see" it and
it can't "see" ther others. They can all connect via \\computer name\c\
shared folder etc but it seems a slower connection than it should. The router
is allocating the IP addresses for the workgroup pcs, the router address is
172.16.0.1 dhcp range is 172.16.1.33 to 172.16.1.250 Subnet mask for router
is 255.255.0.0 The router public address is xx.xxx.xx.22 with a subnet mask
of 255.255.255.248 and the fixed IP range allocated by my ISP is xx.xxx.xx.17
to xx.xxx.xx.21. Anyone got any suggestions how I have have a fixed IP for 1
pc and dhcp IP's for the others
