worksheet formatting

Hi,

Question for any excel guru -

I've got a worksheet that a friend sent me, when I enter 14 and hit
return it formats the cell as .14 and unless I hit the decimal after
the 14 it always formats it as .14 any clues as to how to turn this
function off?

Try here:

Tools / Options / Edit Tab / and switch off Fixed Decimal.
