Wrong default browser

I have older version of office x and using OS 10 and I can not change my
default browser,
Safari will not open do you have any ideas???
Do I have to reinstall Safari? I am not sure how to do that....

You could install this free extension to change your default browser from
inside the System Preferences (requires Mac OS X 10.2 or above):
