Hi. I imported the .pst file from my WinXP laptop to my old WinNT4 tower PC.
The WinNT4 PC now has all the contacts, notes, etc., but...
Wherever in an old Journal an attached shortcut appears that's associated
with a Contact, that shortcut to the Contact doesn't work. The reason is
because Outlook thinks the path to the .pst file is
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
(good for WinXP computer; not for WinNT4 computer)
instead of
C:\Winnt\Profiles\Administrator\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
How do I get Outlook to point thru the correct path for attached shortcuts?
Do I have to reinstall Outlook?
I discovered that I could individually correct each problem Item shortcut by
deleting it, then reinserting the same Item (a Contact). However, I know the
date range of the old problem journals, so I sorted them by date and counted
82 that would need to corrected. It would be too laborious to change each
one the way I just described. Isn't there a more automated way to change
them *all* at the same time, instead of individually?
