XL 2007 SP1 - Cell Formats lost when saving

R

Ron West

I have a large spreadsheet (approx 30Mb) which has a header sheet and about
30 more data sheets with about 2000 rows of data in each.

The first column of each data sheet is a date (format dd-mmm-yy) and the
rest of the columns are numbers formatted to 2dp.

Whenever I save the workbook, close Excel and reload it, all the formatting
disappears.

There was also once a problem where the WorksheetFunctions EDATE and PRICE
in a header sheet were all replaced by non-existent functions, supposedly on
two consecutive sheets that only hold data.

I guess there must be some corruption here. How should I go about re-saving
the contents, to recover a trustworthy workbook?
