Yahoo Mail Chinese Confusion/Problems:
Windows XP / Office 2003 Language (set to support non-Unicode programs)
When preparing Yahoo Mail in Traditional Chinese
(view->encoding->big5), while it appeared right, but it neverthelss
sent scrambled unreadable text (sometimes in Simplified Chinese,
sometimes who-knows-what). Even encountering the same result for the
text pasted from Word or other programs.
I resorted to re-use a previously perfect readable mail to prepare the
Traditional Chinese text, but sometimes still failed.
The frustration is not knowing what is going on and taking the chance,
wasting time to redo again and again.
Any easier solution to this problem than the Code Cleanser below?
***** Solution **************************************
Fortunately, I found the link
<http://www.hokoy.com/Works/Tool/EnDeCode.aspx> that can repair
uni-code for Traditional Chinese (TC) and Simplied Chinese (SC).
Copy/paste the Chinese text in doubt into the upper window.
(not just a word /phrase, but a large chuck)
Click the Converter TC->SC link button
Then Click the Converter SC->TC link button
Copy TC text in the lower window back into Yahoo Mail
that's so far has not turned into scrambled text yet.
Note: the Converter will delete text appearing <....>,
including "<" ">".

Another tool of the site would return PinYin/ZhuYin Note for Chinese
text.
