Your help, please! Entourage 10.1.4 crashing on launch

Hello,

Please help with your suggestions...Entourage 10.1.4 is crashing on
launch (will not launch fully). I have reinstalled it and run the
updater. I have also repaired permissions, but no luck.

I am running it on a PowerBook G4 under OS X.3.9

Any ideas?

Could be a font issue, but instead of guessing, how about checking the
CrashReporter log? Also, just for laughs, try this: make a new user, log
in as that user, and see if that user can start up Entourage. m.

Try holding down the shift key during launch to prevent startup schedules
from firing. Also, disconnect any networks you have to make sure Entourage
isn't trying to get out to the network.

I believe that only works in Entourage 2004.

Download and install the latest Office X update, which is 10.1.6. It's
available from Microsoft.

Recently, malformed junk mail has exploited a bug in the Junk Mail Filter
included with Entourage X and 2001 that causes the entire program to crash
when Entourage attempts to download and process the message. Microsoft has
posted a workaround at their web site:

***Be aware that there are some types of messages that will crash any
version of Entourage regardless of whether the Junk Filter is turned on or
off.*** If you are crashing on receiving mail, it is likely happening
because of a corrupt message on the server. Work through the steps on the
"Crashes" page on The Entourage Help Page to resolve the problem.
Basically, you need to use an alternate interface like webmail to delete the
message before you can restore access through Entourage.
Also, disconnect any networks you have to make sure Entourage
isn't trying to get out to the network.

Probably the first thing to try would be go to your Library Folder, open the
Preferences Folder and delete the "com.microsoft.Entourage.plist" and then
restart Entourage.
