We have had some enterprise global work set up. We have Enterprise project
outline codes and also enterprise project text fields. When i go to Open I
can group my range of projects by the outline codes but not by the project
text fields. is there any way of being able to group by enterprise project
text fields in the Open dialogue box ? Thanks

In the future, please post your Project Server questions in the
microsoft.public.project.server newsgroup, as this newsgroup is dedicated to
the Microsoft Project desktop application only. To answer your question,
no, there is no way to group on enterprise Project text fields in the Open
dialog. You are limited to enterprise Project outline codes only. On the
other hand, if your Project Server administrator would create a custom
Project Center view for you that contains all of your organization's custom
Project fields and outline codes, you could actually group and filter from
that Project Center view and open any project in Project Professional 2003
by clicking the row header for the desired project and clicking the Open
button on the Project Center toolbar. This would give you all the
functionality you wish, just in a different location. Hope this helps.

Dale, Thank you very much for your reply.
Sorry about the wrong location, don't really know what is MsProject App and
what is Project server.
I have used the project centre as suggested and see how to group by the
field i am interested in. This obviously launches the gantt chart in web
access mode is there any way of then loading it the normal application view
to be able to edit in the app environment.
Thanks

Re-read my directions again carefully. Click the row header for the project
you want (not the name of the project) and then click the Open button. It
will open the project in Microsoft Project Professional for you
automatically, which is what you want. Hope this helps.
