0x80042109 Error

Dick

Has been going on for some time now, cannot send from this email but will
receive. All settings appear correct

Folllowing message is received "
Task 'Dick - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook is unable to
connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive
this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider
(ISP).'

any help appreciated

It could be that the outgoing SMTP server is looking for authentication from
you. When you set up your account in Outlook, did you specify your password
for the SMTP server as well as your POP3 server?

It could also be that if you have antivirus set up to scan incoming/outgoing
mail that it's preventing you from connecting.

If you're using Norton, see if they have a patch for it.
