Chris

I have office 2000 small business on a windows xp
computer. When I go to install office xp professional it
gives me the error 25003 1/2 way through the
installation. Any ideas?

Thanks

I'm having the exact same problem - microsofts solutions have been no help.

I, too am getting this error installing Office XP on a brand new HP nx5000 laptop w/Windows XP Pro. No, the official Microsoft responses did not help. I've tried installing from CD and from network shares. I've tried it on two different laptops. I've tried installing Office 2000 and upgrading. I've booted with no extra services running. I've stopped every service I could. I've disabled all software that is not part of the OS. Yes, the CD's are clean. Yes, I have every file visible. Yes, I have admin privilages. Every time I run the install for Office XP I get the same result: Error 25003.
Is there a solution? Is this just a flaw in Office XP? Are there some machines that it just plain won't install on? Is there anything else I should be checking? A registry setting somewhere? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
