Access will not run

Bill

Access (2002) will no longer run (it did at one time). Now, whenever I try
to open an existing database or create a new database, I get a "Microsoft
Access has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience." message with error code signature:
AppName: msaccess.exe AppVer: 10.0.6501.0 ModName: msaccess.exe
ModVer: 10.0.6501.0 Offset: 000a0338
I went through Control Panel/Ad and remove programs/Office/change/repair but
this didn't fix the problem.

Hi Bill,

Looks like you need to do a re-install. Here is a KB article that you might
find helpful:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=298027

I've never had a need to try the reinstall method outlined in this article,
but in your case, I think I'd use the "a" option: Force all files to be
reinstalled, regardless of checksum or version.

Here are some other KB articles that you might want to look at:

How to add or remove a single Office XP program or component
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=290527

How to manually remove the Microsoft Office XP Developer installation from
your computer
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=827428

If my answer has helped you, please answer yes to the question that reads
"Did this post answer the question?", which should be visible at the bottom
right corner of your screen.
