activating a product key for a pre-installed product

i seem to be having difficulties activating a product key for Microsoft
Office 2007 even though i have a product key as the product was pre-installed
on my laptop, when entering the produxt key i get a message saying that its
incorrect and needs to be re-entered, ive done this several times but still
no joy...Help!!

i dont really know :S i got the product key from the bottom of the laptop
but when i bought the laptop it was pre-installed with microsoft office, it
keeps asking for a product key and after looking through all the documents
that came with the laptop i still cannot find the product key...i only have a
few more trys left to enter the product key before i have reached the limit,
help!!!

I'm having the same problem. Code on bottom of Vista Notebook says "Product
Key" and it is the correct # of digits (25). I cannot get into Word anymore.
Help please.

The Product Key on the bottom of the notebook is for the copy of Windows
Vista installed on the notebook. If you bought the computer recently
without a Product Key for Office then it is almost certainly a Trial Edition
of Office. You are better off in the long run uninstalling it and buying a
new retail copy with Product Key from for example Amazon.com. Don't buy
anything retail from the Microsoft web site as it is all over priced. They
are really trying to get people to go through resellers.

There is supposedly a version of "Office Basic" that a computer manufacturer
can sell to the customer with their computer, but we don't see much of that
here. I am thinking that it is sold already activated for use.
