Another toggle question

Here's another "stumper" that I cannot solve.

When I use PowerPoint 2008with my MBP and OS X 10.5 and it is
connected to an LCD projector, & mirroring is off, I am in presenter
tools, I get different results depending on whether I toggle command -
F7; or Option-F7; Ctrl-F7; or fn-F7. What is the purpose of each of
these?
