attachment in the body text

Hi,
Using Outlook 2003 when ever I try to attach a file to a message the
attached file appears as an icon in the middle of the first line of the
email and not in the Attach... line box. When the email gets sent the
attachment doesn't arrive at the other end.

How can I make sure that the attached file appears and sends as an attached
file and not an icon in the text?

If the message is formatted in Rich Text format, the attachment will appear
in the body of the message as you describe. If the message is fromatted in
HTML or plain text, the attachment will appear below the Subject text box.
Check your message format selection.
