Baseline Work and Task Usage View

When I look at my project using the Task Usage View I notice that I have a
discrepency between the total baseline work and the summary levels beneath
i.e. what value is in the highest level summary task (i.e. 66 Days) is more
than what is in the Total Baseline work amount (i.e. 55 Days). In the task
usage view I'm looking at a month-by-month basis. When I revert back to the
Gannt Chart View the Baseline Work amounts displayed there are correct. In
the Task Usage view it is also showing me figures in months where there is no
work planned????

Can anyone explain to me why this discrepency would be?

I know that some of the Baseline Work amounts for tasks (detail and summary)
were manually entered - would that have caused/contributed the problem? The
reason being some were entered manually is work had progressed without the
baseline being set so the figures were entered retrospectively.

Many Thanks

Lee,
Yes, that would have contributed to the problem. And just for reference,
manual entry of timescaled baseline values totally defeats the purpose
of a baseline. Generally baseline values for a task are set once, before
the task is started, and then it is never changed once the task starts.
What will change is the actual values (e.g. actual cost, actual work,
etc.).

At this point I'm not sure what to suggest. It may be that from a
baseline tracking standpoint the file is too "corrupt" to be of much
value.
