I am running trial version of office for mac. I have added several of my
aol email accounts and they were working fine until today..now I can
receive emails but not send...can anyone help me here..i am lost; i am a
new Mac user so that might be some of the issue

If something worked then fails, it usually isn't the settings. I would
look at your internet connection. However, see this page for help
setting up your AOL account:

AOL is an old and I suggest you move away from it. You can setup gmail
to fetch an account and download via gmail.

Basics:
1. If you can receive but not send then you have a bad SMTP configuration
2. If you can send but not receive you have a bad POP or IMAP configuration

You can try re-entering info.
You can delete account and create a new one.
Using copy/paste can result in an extra space being added. Type carefully.
Check your Keychain for corruption.
Check under advanced settings. Most ISPs require advanced settings now
for SMTP. Check the website for exact info on SSL and ports.

Cheers and Welcome to Mac! I have a few tips and links posted to help
new users here:
