Can't open OneNote 2003 section

I use OneNote 2003 extensively. Several months ago I did the OneNote 2007
trial but did not buy it and uninstalled it. Everything was working fine but
a few days ago, one of the sections gives me the following error:

"This section is from a different version of OneNote and cannot be opened.

Your version cannot load this file, but a converter may be available on the
Downloads on Office Online Web site."

It seems to be very random and no other sections have this issue. I need to
be able to access this section, please help. Thanks.

OneNote 2003 cannot open sections created by OneNote 2007. If you need
to access the data in that section, your best bet is to reinstall the
OneNote 2007 trial (it will continue to function in read-only mode even
after the trial period expires) and view the data that way.

Well, I emailed that section to someone I know with OneNote 2007, and when
they tried to open it on their laptop, it said something like "this is not a
onenote section."

So, should I try to re-install OneNote 2007 trial? Basically, it's not the
same error as when you try to open a OneNote 2007 file in OneNote 2003. It's
some other issue, but I don't know what. Anyone else?

It is possible the section got corrupted somehow. Try running "onenote
/forcerepair <path to the section>". If you have a backup, you could
also try recovering the data that way.
