Crash on shutdown

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel

Word 2008 crashes on shutdown at least 75% of the time. I have deleted pref files, and trashed normal template repeatedly.... but the problem recurs, generally after the 2nd or 3rd time the program is used. Error log is posted below the line. Thoughts?

When is the last time you shut down your Mac?

Have you recently repaired disk permissions?

Those are the two principal causes of crash on Quit, so try shutting down,
repair disk permissions after you restart & see if the problem continues. If
it does, reply with any additional details. Snow Leopard has brought its own
set of new issues, however, so all we're all continuing to learn what they
are & how to deal with them.

BTW: Those lengthy, cryptic crash logs are intended for the software
developers/engineers to whom they are automatically sent. The newsgroups are
manned by users like yourself, so they mean no more to us than they do to
you Don't take the time & effort to include anything beyond the line
preceding "Thread (#) crashed". If there happens to be a responder who
thinks that the log would be helpful they'll request that you send it to
them offline in a private email.

Thanks for the tip (and sorry for the long cut/paste thing). I shut down my mac this morning and ran disk permissions repair - and just got the crash on shut down error AGAIN. Very frustrating.

For both of you, the crash is occurring in the Core foundation, at Blame
Module Offset: 0x0000d815.

God knows what that is (and the communication between God and I is not all
that regular...)

However, immediately before that, Entourage was calling into Sync Services.

So try disabling Sync Services and see if the error goes away...

Sorry: Without Microsoft's debugging tools, we can't read crash dumps so
this is a bit of a guess...
