Creating files for all versions

G

Gladys

Depending upon the PC I am using at my church and home, I use different
versions of Pub--Pub 97, 2000, and 2002.

If I want to create a file that I can use with all these versions, how do I
do that?

For example, I see on Brian's website that there are templates/files that
can be used on several versions, i.e., a resume file, family tree, etc.

In what version were those files created and saved?

When you are working on PUB2002 save file as "Publisher 97-2002" file format
and you will be open it with PUB97. Similar for PUB2000.

You are right Gladys. I`m sorry, I didn¹t have Publisher handy at that
moment.
Save in the format for lowest version of Publisher you have. If you are
using PUB97 - use 97, if you the lowest version of Publisher that you are
using is 2000 - save for publisher 2000.

Publisher 97-2002 is backwards compatible, but you cannot open files in 2002
format with PUB97.

Thank you,
Vsevolod.

Yes you most definitely can open Publisher 97 files in Pub2002.
