ctrl+click copies object in PP2003 under Vista

Using PowerPoint 2003 under Vista 64-bit, when I try and select multiple
objects by holding down CTRL and left clicking, each selected object is
copied every time I left click, resulting in many multiples of the same
object.

This is unexpected behaviour - does anyone else find this, and is is there a
workaround?

Stickykeys are not turned on.

SDC,
This may help or not but it's worth a try. Close PPT. Browse for your
Powerpnt.exe file. Right click on it and select properties. Select the
compatibility tab. Put a checkmark in Disable desktop composition. Click Ok.
Reopen PowerPoint, you could get a message saying something has changed. Now
try to ctrl+click.
As I am writing this it occurs to me that there's an entry in Steve
Rindsbergs FAQ about this, and yes behold, here it is:

Thanks - that workaround did work, however (as the info in your link
suggests) this does disable Aero under Vista.

I found another workaround also - if you use SHIFT rather than CTRL to
multi-select items, then all works as expected.

Quite odd - and thanks for your speedy response.
