Data decryption problem Error 2020 - Entourage v.x re att/Yahoo server updates pop account

Running OSX 10.3.9

Att Yahoo is updating their servers as per their instructions I
updated the settings in Entourage v.x to "pop.att.yahoo.com and the
smtp to "smtp.att.yahoo.com" checked the SSL and changed the smtp port
to 465 then did the same to the POP account changing the port to 995.

After this I could not send or receive mail - got the following error
message "Data decryption problem Error 2020"

Called ATT support and they told me that Entourage not supported. (On
my other computer I run Entourage 2004 and it works.

Any suggestions?? or do I have to "retire" Entourage v.x

No luck - I had these settings in for Entourage 2004 and they worked
fine, however they do not work in Entrouge v.x

Maybe I¹m confused. You are saying it work on Entourage 2004 but not
Entourage X? Entourage X is now End of Life. It was not updated for Daylight
Saving Time. Using Entourage X with Hotmail broke after a server update.

Yes one computer has Entourage X and the other computer has Entourage
2004

If I understand you correctly Entourage X is now, for all practical
purposes, not useable
with the new settings.

So I should probably discontinue use, just hat to by another program

It certainly sounds like Entourage X is not useable with ATT Yahoo. It would
be nice to understand exactly why.
