Default colors of font/arrows

I frequently use OneNote as my college has gone to paperless note taking.
This means that all lectures are imported via the "print to OneNote"
function. It's not a problem until a PowerPoint lecture has a dark
background and I need a light text such as white. Obviously I use text boxes
to make my notes next to the applicable areas and often arrows as well from a
text box to an area in a diagram or picture. Though I change the color of
font to white for text and then type my text, each subsequent text box is
still the default of black when I'd expect it would remember my choice from
the previous text box until changed to something else. Same for selecting
arrows to draw from the note to the picture. If I select white and then the
arrow, if I need to make another arrow, I again have to select the arrow
because it has defaulted to the "free form line" immediatly following my
drawing of the previous arrow instead of just remaining with what I select
until I choose something else. Major hassels in fast paced classes.

Additionally, I could really use additional options for colors and types of
pens beyond just the 4 or 5 per pen type (thin/thick/highlighter) in my
toolbar.
