Deleting old Publisher version?

A

Alan

I have Publisher 98 on my Vista Home Premium computer. It's in:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\MSPUB.EXE". I recently got
Publisher 2007 that's in C:\Progrm Data\Microsoft\Windows\Start
Menu\\Programs.

When I decided to delete Publisher 98, I got a lot of "do you REALLY want to
do this" messages and got scared off. Can I safely delete Publisher 98
without screwing up Publisher 2007? They're on different paths but what
about the registry?

You should be fine. Those messages are to make people think twice before
doing something "accidently".

Please note: Publisher 2007 is not installed in the location you cited.
Please make sure that you are using the "uninstall" option in Add/Remove
programs in the control panel and that you selected the correct version.

(And to be on the safe side, keep your Office 2007 CD handy.)

Are you removing it using the Control Panel?

There is no reason why you need to uninstall Publisher 98. Leaving it will keep
the Clip Gallery available.

If you decide the remove Publisher 98, it shouldn't interfere with 2007.
