Different Windows User Account Apply to Project Pro 2003?

Hello,

I am running Project Server 2003. I know in Project Web Access, a
user can log on using a different Microsoft Windows user account than
the one they signed into the computer with (This option appears on the
left side of the screen after a user hits "Log Off" in PWA). Is there
a way to have this same functionality with Project Pro 2003 connecting
to Project Server?

Background: I am looking for this solution because I am creating local
users on the actual "Project Server" Server for a few individuals who
will not have windows accounts in our domain. I must use this option
rather than Project Auth. logins because Project Auth. logins are not
sufficient privs to allow users to establish connection with the PWA
website from outside the network. So, those external users are still
using Windows Auth., but rather than "mydomain\user", they enter in
"servername\user". This works fine for PWA, but I don't know how it
could work with Project Pro. I need an option in Project Pro that
chooses Windows Auth. AND allows me to manually enter my windows
username.

Thoughts?

I don't believe so but this option is available in MSPS 2007 to log in with
other NT credentials.

One thing you might try is to set up a managed passwords under user accounts
in your control panel. there you can specify the url of the project server
and a different nt username and password to pass as your credentials for
that specific server. When you log into PWA or Project Pro with windows
athentication, it will pass the windows account you specify in the managed
passwords instead of the windows account you are currently logged in as on
the machine. This works pretty well.

Jonathan.
