Displaying Wall dimensions

I'm a newbie here and have a simple question. Or maybe it's not so simple.
When I create a wall for a building layout it shows the length dimension as I
drag it to size. Is there a way to have this dimension shown at all times
including when I print it?

Ik had a look at the Shapesheet, but being a newbie in shapesheets, I did not
find an answer.
So I'll give you the wrong silly answer you may allready know :

Select the wall, Right click, Add a Dimension.

I had a second look
Right click on the shape. Format, Behaviour, Select : eg group first.

Now select the dimension
Menu Window Shapesheet.
Set the cell user.hide to FALSE.
It is also possible to control the units, the placement, the arrow.

I allmost gave up, thinking it was all in the AEC.dll

Does anyone have an article on the walls ? Could I add Geometries to show
the different layers in a wall ?
I tried making patterns, but I don't think that is the way to go.
