.doc file links slow to open in Outlook SP1

I have one user (among 300) reporting that his .doc file links are extremely
slow in opening. There's nothing obvious going on with respect to the
network & nothing has changed on the users local PC. The problem started
yesterday.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!!
