(MOSS/OFF2007)

Hi, can someone please confirm this behavour as a bug and/or advise
workaround.

If one has a 2 site columns in a CType that "lookup" from the same list/lib,
the Edit Doc Information Panel in Infopath fails and reports: InfoPath
cannot open the following form:
C:\Users\[Name]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet
Files\Content.MSO\19D946AE.tmp\customXsn.xsn

Thanks

I just tried this myself and I didn't get the same issue. When you created
the custom DIP template, where did you save it? I saved it to my Form
Templates library. Then I pointed my content type's DIP settings to the form
url. I then had to make sure that the site was a trusted site and everything
worked fine, including the two lookup site columns.

Big Thanks for assisting Bart.

I cant create the custom DIP!
The error mentioned below is displayed by Infopath when I try to "Create a
New Custom Template" from SP/CType/DIPsettings/

I think you created your xsn from Infopath first....Rather than SP driven
yes?
All my other Lists/Libs work just fine with creating custom DIPs using SP.

Actually, I used the Create a New Custom Template link as well. But when it
was time to save it, I saved it locally first then I uploaded it to my form
templates library. Then, I just edited the DIP settings for my content type.

And you have two (2) SiteColumns in your ContentType that LOOKUP the same
COLUMN in another List???

Eg, you have a ContentType called Christmas Card, with 2 SiteColumns, one
called "TO" and one called "FROM" these 2 SiteColumns are configured to
LOOKUP the CONTACTS List to choose TO & FROM respectively.

Now go to the DIP settings in SP of the Christmas Card ContentType and
select Create a New Custom Template.

Yes, that's exactly the setup I have. I have a list called TestList where I
have two columns, the ID and the Title. I created one site column of type
lookup called Lookup1 that looks up the ID from TestList. I created a second
site column of type lookup called Lookup2 that looks up the value from
TestList's Title column. Then I created a content type, TestContentType, and
added these two site columns. Then I proceeded to create a new template.
Worked fine.

Arh! Your not looking up the SAME Column! Lookup1 and Lookup2 columns both
need to be looking up the same column in another list.

Eg TestList contains 2 lookup columns that both lookup "TITLE" column in say
TestList2

That's not exactly what you said or I misunderstood it:

Anyways, I did change it so that both lookup columns do point to the same
column in another list. When I did that, I couldn't edit my existing DIP
form any longer. No error message but the form template didn't even show up
in InfoPath. So I tried to create a new DIP and that did produce the same
error you got below.
