Duration settings for Gantt Chart

Q

Qasim

I am trying to produce a Gantt Chart for a small project. I would like the
duration on the Gantt Chart should be measured in minutes or ideally seconds.
My problem is that on the Gantt Chart I cant seem to change the duration
settings, which i in days?
Does anyone know how to change to minutes?

Tools/Options. Pull the Scedule tab.
Change the work and durations drop downs do the disired setting of minutes.

Time scales may be changed to Hours and Minutes by right clicking on the
time scale in any view and the change it.

Hi,

On top of <Jim's advice: if you alrady have ebntered durations in days,
resetting the option willl not change their duration units.
To achieve that Tools, Macro, Macros, Format_Duration, run
HTH

Adding to the others, right click on the timeline at the top of the Gantt
chart and you can change the timescales to the units you desire (except
seconds - Project uses units of minutes to the nearest 10th, ie 6 seconds,
as its basiv duration unit). But for most projects tasks describe the work
activities being done by people - is it reasonable to expect them to be able
to work a schedule to the nearest minute??? Generally speaking, if tasks
have durations less than about 8 hours warning bells should go off alerting
you to excessive micro-managing.
