Enterprise Project Level Custom Fields

I have an enterprise task level custom field that is an formula. I would like
to have a total of this field available at the project level. I am
determining if the task has an internal or external resource. If internal
then it is an internal cost if not it is an external cost. At a summary level
I could have tasks that were performed by both internal and external so I
have specified that the value should be summed for summary levels. How can I
capture this field that is summary for the entire proejct?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi MAS,

Generally you are able to create an Enterprise Project Custom field which
refers to your task custom field. based on this you should be able to create
the formula you are after.
Hope this helps

Marc,
Yes, indeed this does help but I must be doing something wrong. I
successfully created a project level field called "project external cost".
The formula that I used was simply [external costs]. I then published a test
procect plan and the task level costs are working great. I then created a
project center view that includes "project external cost". The column appears
in the project center view but it is empty. What am I missing?

This may not be the case, but when you created the custom field, in
the section, Values to Display, it is set to the default of Data,
right?

MAS you will need to open a project press F9 (recalc) then save and publish
your project again. That should update your Custom field in the Project Center
Hope this helps

Marc,
Thank you very much for your help. This indeed fixed the issue. Why was this
necessary when the calculation mode is set to automatic? Will all projects
need this doen to them or will it happen as changes are made to the project
and they are recalculated with the auto setting? Thanks again for your help.

Hi MAS,

when changes are made in the project and you save and publish the project
that should be enough and yes all project are required to be republised.
Hope this helps
