Entourage 2008 & Exchange TASK FILES folder

One of my Mac/Entourage 2008 users has somehow moved her Exchange Mailbox
Calendar, Contacts, Journal, Junk E-mail, Notes and Tasks folders under a
mail folder named TASK FILES. If you connect to the user's Exchange account
via Entourage 2008, Outlook 2008 and OWA, you see the TASK FILES folder with
all the above mentioned folders under it. It will not allow me to move the
original folders back under the Mailbox - I get the "special folders cannot
be moved". If they can't be moved, then how did she move them under the TASK
FILES folder in the first place??? It is driving me crazy.

The problem is, that under Entourage, she can't add anything new to any of
the subfolders under the TASK FILES folder. I can in Outlook, but not in
Entourage.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi,

Are you aware of How these default folders got moved? Is your Mac/Entourage
user also using Outlook on Windows?

Well your choices are
1. run resetfolderswitch in outlook on windows (not sure if this works but a
good thing to try)
2. Use MFCMAPI tool

How to use Reset folder switch:
Outlook 2003 comes with lots of new command line switches which can be very
handy for troubleshooting. The following list is from the Outlook 2003 help
file.

To use the switches follow these instructions:

1.. Search for the Microsoft Outlook executable file, Outlook.exe, and
make a note of the path to Outlook.exe. For example, by default the path for
Outlook 2003 is;
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe.
2.. Click Start, and then click Run.
3.. In the Open box, type the complete path you noted in step 1, including
the file name. Press the SPACEBAR once, and then type a forward slash mark
(/) followed by the switch. For example, if you want to use the
CleanReminders switch, the command you type in the Open box should look like
this:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office11\Outlook.exe" /Cleanreminders
Note: Paths that include spaces between words must be enclosed in
quotation marks (") and are case sensitive.
4.. To run the command, click OK.
For MFCMAPI tool I would suggest you to call Microsoft support.

thanks

Thanks so much for your response. The /resetfolders along with the
/resetfoldernames resolved all the problems except the Junk Mail folder. It
still resides under the Sent Items (which had been renamed Task Files - who
knows how that happened). We don't use the junk mail filter so I think we'll
be ok.

Thanks again.
